Tracing Your Roots To Gallipoli

Remembering some of the Bolton men who lost their lives in the Gallipoli Campaign of 1915

John Morris

John was the son of Patrick Morris b.1862, a gas works labourer and Mary Ann Morris née Duffy b.1868.

John's whereabouts in his youth are something of a mystery as he and several of his siblings appear to have been scattered among relatives. As his father was Irish it is quite possible that he spent time with family in Ireland himself.

By 1911 he was living at 29 Dawes Street with his widowed father and siblings Mary Elizabeth, b.1891, Agnes b.1895, William b.1900, Thomas b.1904 and James b.1907.

John was working as a general labourer at that point.
