Tracing Your Roots To Gallipoli

Remembering some of the Bolton men who lost their lives in the Gallipoli Campaign of 1915

Frank Cowper Rimmer

Frank was the son of Edmund Rimmer b.1856, Secretary of Luton Co-operative Society and Dorothy Rimmer née Seddon b.1857.

Although Frank was born in Horwich the family moved to Luton, Bedfordshire when he was still a young child and in 1901 he was living there with his parents at 21 Cardiff Grove.

Frank also had two older brothers - William Edward b.1880 and Frederick Arthur b.1883.

Frank's mother died in 1904 and his father remarried to Emily Hargreaves Scott in 1906.

By 1911 Frank was living with his father and stepmother at 11 West Hill Road, Luton.

At that time he was working as a straw hat warehouseman.
