Corpl. ROBT. CALDERLY (22), Machine Gun Corps, transferred from the L.N.L. Regt., which he joined on September 1st 1914, and was killed on October 10th, 1916. He had only just returned to the trenches from a furlough after 12 months at the front, where he had seen severe fighting. Calderley, whose name is on the Roll of Honour at Park-st. Wesleyan Chapel and Oxford Grove Council School, was a piecer at Haslam’s No. 3 Mill. His Brother, Pte. Wm. Calderley has been missing since August 9th, 1915, and another brother, Pte. Joe Calderley is serving with the Gordon Highlanders.
