Second-Lieut. GILBERT HALEY DARRICOTTE, aged 30, has been killed in action in France during the present month. He was the eldest son of Mr. J. Darricotte, Supervisor of Schools, and after being a Pupil Teacher at Pikes-lane and Oxford-grove Schools, he was trained at St. John’s College, Battersea, 1906-8. From 1908-10 he was on the staff of Waterloo-rd School, Manchester, and from 1910-17 second master of the County Secondary School, Hunts. He married Miss Dorothy Crossland, of Bredbury, Stockport, and leaves one child, aged four years. The deceased was at first attached to the Bedfords, but later was transferred to the 9th Essex Regiment.
