Formerly an employee at Wolfenden’s Columbia Mills as a side piecer, Pte. JAMES IRELAND, whose parents reside at 121 Lawn-st., Bolton, was in the bombing section of a battalion of the L.N.L. Regiment, and was killed on January 10th in a raid. He enlisted two years ago, and after being invalided home had again been out at the front about 12 months. He was well known as a member of the Bolton Central Club, and had won several competitions and medals in connexion with that sport. His twin brother is now convalescent in England, having been wounded at the front. He is on the Roll of Honour at St. Luke’s.
