Corpl. ROBERT WALTON, L.N.L., has been missing since July 9th, 1917, and now he is reported to have been killed on that date. He enlisted on February 23rd, 1915, and almost two years later (February 6th, 1917) he went out to the front, and for bravery on the field he received two honours cards. Aged 26, he was employed at Messrs., T. and H. Scowcroft’s Tonge Moor Colliery, and lived at 10 Darley-st., Bolton. He played football for St. Luke’s and had a trial with Preston North End. His name is on St. Luke’s Church and Oxford Grove Council School Rolls of Honour.
Son of William Walton, of 10, Canada St., Bolton; husband of Annie Walton, of 10, Darley St., Brownlow Fold, Bolton.
